SOM sidecar

The SOM sidecar is a deterministic FPGA inference sidecar: a deterministic integer trainer, a writable FPGA model, and a CRC-protected evidence frame.

Development was paused on 3 September 2026 and it is not currently available as a commercial product. It is not abandoned: a retest is going ahead, and whether it returns to active development depends on that retest reaching parity.

The results it reached stand. All 150 complete SOM1 records matched the exact software oracle on both Tang Primer 25K and Wukong Artix-7 hardware, with the checked Iris model scoring 147 of 150 semantic classifications — an in-sample figure on a frozen corpus, not a generalisation claim.

See the SOM v1 product contract for the defined boundary and evidence.
